MEET THE EDUCATOR
Gary Faigin has a long and distinguished career as a fine art instructor who combines classical principles of fine art, Western art history, unique demonstrations and visually-comprehensive lectures into his studio teaching practice. Trained in drawing at the Art Students League in New York and in painting at l'Ecole des beaux-arts in Paris, Faigin taught for many years in the major art schools in Manhattan – the Art Students League, the National Academy of Design School of Art, Parsons School of Design, the School of Visual Arts and New York Academy of Art.
Faigin is the co-Founder and Artistic Director of Gage Academy of Art in Seattle where he leads art tours, lectures on Perspective and Drawing the Head and teaches a Still Life Painting Atelier.
FACIAL EXPRESSION FOR CG ARTISTS
Known as the "Face Doctor," Faigin has been investigating the artistic depiction of facial expressions for over four decades. Hired as a facial expression expert, Faigin trains and consults with CG artists in media studios and creative agencies in North America and Europe), as well as teaches "Rigging Facial Expressions in Maya" in the Animation Department of the University of Washington.
